Penny Mordaunt’s “trade deal” with 20 US states explained When I started this Substack, I did worry a little about whether there would be enough to discuss every week, dealing with just Brexit items alone. I now find such a concern hilarious; there is so much to go over every seven days, deciding what to leave out has become a challenge. For something that’s supposed to be “done”, Brexit still seems to have a lot of moving parts.
a minor point, but it just struck me again that the "deal" is with 20 states and she claims this represents "20% of the US economy". Maybe she's done some maths with the figures (or got an advisor to look into it) and it's just a coincidence that these might be some of the smaller states and that 20 of them makes only (and exactly) 20% of the US economy. But my first thought on reading this is that she thinks that 20 out of 50 states makes "20%" and doesn't even imagine why that might seem odd to me.
Is that the same Penny Mourdaunt who screamed that Turkey was about to be admitted to the EU and that we must vote Brexit otherwise 80 million ottomons could be arriving.
Don't worry Penny I was born here if you want to know.
Cameron had to take her aside and whisper EU veto.
Proud to never have voted Tory.
By the way somebody should tell Priti Rwanda Patel that Boris is Turkish.
I'm guessing people who voted Brexit on the basis that it would "keep the immigrants out" might by now be wondering about Johnson's trip to India and the hints arising that a trade deal with India might be made on the basis of better terms for Indian immigrants to the UK.
But never mind, the people who shouted "Project Fear" at any warnings were surely telling them the whole truth...
Re the Irish getting ''preferential treatment''. I wonder if those complaining of this are part of a union that aims to get better treatment for its members? Or have ever joined a discount warehouse such as Costco that offers discounts on food, clothing, electronics, alcohol, etc to its members for a yearly fee? If you lack membership, you won't be allowed in.
The Irish are not getting preferential treatment at all. They are merely getting the advantages of being full a full member of the EU. Something the UK recently had but threw away.

Each passing year the Brexit 17 million will shrink to a cult.
Firstly the immigrants are taking our jobs.
Over a million job vacancies.
Whole sectors are collapsing.
Where are the English hard grafters.
Remind me of the Fifties when the Tories put the call out for commonwealth Labour.
Now need India to compensate.
Mr Brexit will be angry when he finds out he been done like a kipper.

Thank you for clarifying these so called “deals”.
